I’m always working ways to figure out how to save money and travel to Disneyland. Being that we live on the West Coast, it isn’t too far and with enough planning, we can find airfare as cheap as $99 roundtrip from Portland, OR to Santa Ana, CA.(My favorite airport in California!) I admit, Disneyland IS my weakness!
Today I will share with you one of the easiest ways to save money for your Walt Disney World or Disneyland Vacation… We all love Target, right? I mean, who doesn’t? We always walk in for ONE thing and walk out with TENS of items. (Please say yes, I want to believe I am not alone!) Anyways… if you shop at Target, you have been offered the Target Red Card, this card can either be a Debit Card (Linked to your checking account) or a Credit Card. I am all for not using Credit Cards, so don’t worry you don’t need to get one to save.
By setting up the Debit Target Red Card, you will also save 5% in gift cards. Yes! And Target does sell Disney Gift Cards. As you can see in the picture I bought $300 worth of Disney Gift Cards, used my Debit Target Red Card and saved $15(The receipt shows a bit more of savings, because well… it’s Target, I bought a few more things).
Now, you may think “Is that worth the hassle?”… There is no hassle! It would be the same as paying cash (The money comes out of your checking account with no fees) … In this trip to Target I bought only $300 worth of gift cards, but all along for this trip I have saved almost $100. And that means there is more money for Turkey Legs and Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bars!
Combining Gift Cards:
Ok, you saved on your gift cards… you end up with many of them, 10, 20? Yes, I believe that. What to do next? Well, you can combine all the gift cards into one… You sign up on Disney Gift Cards and add them all… Then you transfer the balance from all of them into one and use that to pay for your vacation. Yes, your Travel Agent is able to use that Gift Card to make payments toward your vacation.
See? Saving money isn’t that hard!
